Kamchàtka on Finding Home: Migration, Exile, and Belonging

Performing.  Washington DC, 22/06/2016

As part of the TCG Global Pre-Conference on Finding Home: Migration, Exile, and Belonging, theKamchàtka company will offer Migrar, a site-specific journey to all those who wish to discover the city in which they have arrived or which they have never left, with a new viewpoint free of prejudice, with a child’s curiosity and dealing with the theme of immigration. The Kamchàtka street theatre company of Barcelona has a long history of experimenting and investigating art in public space, the social codes of communication and the theme of immigration.

The TCG Global Pre-Conference embodies our collective pursuit of a highly participatory, inclusive nation without borders that includes and celebrates all theatre citizens. The theme for the Pre-Conference is Finding Home: Migration, Exile, and Belonging; it will include a range of international guests from around the world, in dialogue with artists and leaders from across the country. Through a dynamic and innovative range of performances, workshops, and discussions, the Pre-Conference will explore the value of meaningful cultural exchange in the context of an increasingly polarized world, beset by so many forms of conflict and crisis (geopolitical, humanitarian, environmental, etc.).
