‘10.000KM’ and ‘Unstoppables’, present at international festivals

Cinematographic debut by Catalan director Carlos Marqués-Marcet, 10.000KM, is nominated as best opera prima at European Film Awards. Likewise, Imparables [Unstoppables] documentary, a production by Black Train Films and Televisió de Catalunya, will take part in two festivals: the Bakersfield Film in California and the Baku International FICTS Sport Film. Both films have already received several accolades in other international competitions.




The Outside the Box festival, held from 7 to 9 November in Bakersfield, will screen Imparables [Unstoppables]. The documentary tells the story of Piratas Team –a group of cyclists who have physical disabilities–, which has Juanjo Méndez as the main role. Méndez –who lost an arm and a leg after a car accident– is one of the best world paralympic cyclists.
The Black Train Films and Televisió de Catalunya production will also be present at Baku International FICTS Sport Film from 17 to 22 November. Unstoppables was awarded as best Catalonia’s production at BCN Sports Film Festival and it also took part in Berlin Independent Film Festival and George Lindsey Film Festival in Alabama (USA).
Likewise, 10.000KM film by Carlos Marqués-Marcet will be present at European Film Awards on 13 December in Riga. It has been nominated in ‘European Discovery’ category as the Europe’s best opera prima. The outstanding film has been very well received by the international critics. Before being just one step away from representing Spain at 2015 Academy Awards, 10.000KM had already won five accolades at Málaga Film Festival and had been at Seattle International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival, among others.

Both films have already been acknowledged in several competitions
