Sala-Valldaura, acknowledged as best foreign author at 2015 Prix Ovide

The Cénacle Européen Francophone has awarded Catalan poet Josep Maria Sala-Valldaura with 2015 Prix Ovide for best foreign author translated into French. The prize-giving ceremony will be held next June in Paris during the Marché de la Poésie, a poetry meeting celebrated every year for about four months. As a poet-in-residency at Maison de la Poésie, the Belgian publishing house L’Arbre à paroles launched his books Daltabaix in French as Bouleversements. The homonymous magazine also published his monographic about Catalan poets, translated by Nathalie Bittoun-Debruyne.




Josep Maria Sala-Valldaura is a Catalan poet, essayist and professor, born Gironella. Currently he is Doctor of Spanish Literature at University of Lleida. As a poeta, Sala-Valldaura has published several poetry books particularly orientated to Classicism and Modernity. He is considerated to be one of the main authors of his generation to have changed the poetry language. As a essayist, he has also contributed to the poetry renovation during the seventies and the eighties and he is an important expert on Joan Vinyoli’s work. And as a literary critic, he has written for several periodical publications. His work has been acknowledged with awards such as Serra d’Or, el Joanot Martorell or Cavall Verd.
