Teatro de los Sentidos presents the work 'Petits exercicis pel bon morir' in Japan

Performing.  Japan, 26/04/2014

Teatro de los Sentidos is travelling to Japan to present Petits exercicis pel bon morir at the Shizuoka World Theatre Festival. The work explores that unknown half that lives with our consciousness and often struggles to come out into the light. The show is scheduled from 26 to 29 April with three performances a day and the cast will include local actors. The performance of the play in Japan has the support of the Institut Ramon Llull.

This project by the theatre company, engaged in investigating the relation between sensory languages and theatrical creation, springs from a reflection on what arouses our curiosity, surprise, doubt or puts us to the test. With the work, directed by Enrique Vargas, Teatro de los Sentidos  sets out to celebrate the unknown half that lives with our consciousness, two roads, two doors. One leads to the exercises for a good life. The other to the small exercises for a good death. Through the show the company invites the audience to choose the experience they want to live and to tell the difference between the two.

Teatro de los Sentidos is a stable core of artists and investigators from many disciplines and nationalities who have been working closely for over 20 years with Enrique Vargas, anthropologist and artistic director. The company aims its works at a language based on what is not said and stages silence as an indispensable condition for communication between the work and the audience. Petits exercicis pel bon morir had its first performance in Barcelona on 7 December and continued until 26 February at the Polvorí de Montjuïc, the company’s headquarters
