Catalan Films at Seattle International Film Festival

The 44th Annual Seattle International Film Festival that will be held from May 17th to June 10th 2018 includes nine Catalan films in its line-up!




The festival will kick off  its 44th edition with The Bookshop by Isabel Coixet (A Contracorriente, Diagonal, Green Films AIE, Northern Ireland Screen, One Two Films, Zephyr Films). The film won several Goya Awards including best film and best director and was screened at the Berlinale. 

For its part, the Contemporay World Cinema will be screening  Summer 1993 by Carla Simón (Inicia Films, AValon Cine) and Anchor and Hope by Carlos Marqués-Marcet (Lastor Media, Vennerfil, La Panda productions).

What'smore, the Cilunary section will be featuring documentary feature film Constructing Albert by Laura Collado and Jim Loomis (Trueday films, Televisió de Catalunya, Alexandra film).

Finally, five Catalan short films will be competing in the Short Film Packages - ¡Tapas! section: Xisca by Sergi Lara (benece), El escarabajo al final de la calle/The Bettle at the end fo the street by Joan Vives (Escac Films),  La última virgen/The Last Virgin by Barbara Farré (Escac Films), Matria by Álvaro Gago (Sombriza Films, Ringo Media) and RIP by Albert Pintó y Caye Casas (Alhena productions), which is part of the Sortcat 2018 programme's selection.
