LA OLA celebrates its fourth edition, including three Catalan films

LA OLA | LA will take place from May 31 to June 3 at the Egyptian Theatre, the Montalban Rooftop Cinema Club and The Echo Park Film Center, celebrating four consecutive years in the city of Los Angeles. The film showcase will continue with LA OLA | CDMX from June 8 to June 10 at the Cineteca Nacional de Mexico. The last stop of the event will be LA OLA | NYC from June 15 to June 18 at the Anthology Film Archives in New York. 




LA OLA – Independent Films from Spain offers a curated selection of critically acclaimed films, selected and awarded at the most remarkable international film festivals, which now have an opportunity to reach new audiences. The showcase celebrates its 4th edition, creating a bridge between Spain and the Americas. LA OLA has provided Los Angeles and New York with a window into the most innovative Spanish cinema, and in 2018 the film showcase hits Mexico City thanks to a collaboration with the prestigious Cineteca Nacional de Mexico

LA OLA – Independent Films from Spain is a project of La Panda Productions, Playtime Audiovisuales, and Rocío Mesa, in partnership with Spain Fresh; with the principal support of Acción cultural Española AC/E, SPAIN Arts & Culture, Embassy of Spain in Mexico and ELMA; co-presented in partnership with MUBI and Curtocircuito; with the support of the Trade Comission of Spain in Los Angeles, Consulate General of Spain in Los Angeles & New York, Embassy of Spain in the United States, The American Cinematheque and Los Angeles Filmforum; with the fiscal sponsorship of The Film Collaborative; in collaboration with The Egyptian Theatre, The Montalban Rooftop Cinema Club, The Echo Park Film Center, the Anthology Film Archives and Cineteca Nacional de Mexico. 

The annual event will include works by Catalan directors Laura Ferrés, César Pesquera and Elena Martín as well as a master class by Clara López Menéndez.
