The payment period will take place afterwards through the virtual office, from 27 April to 7 May. The tests in the first round will take place from 12 to 26 May, on different dates according to the level being assessed. The results can be consulted as of 21 September in the virtual office. Those who pass can download the corresponding diploma.

The Catalan language certificates from the Institut Ramon Llull, an official certification body for Catalan language proficiency abroad, demonstrate the level of knowledge of Catalan for both academic and employment purposes (public administration, companies, institutions) and are divided into five levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:

Elementary (A2)

Intermediate (B1)

Upper intermediate (B2)

Advanced (C1)

Proficiency (C2)

Among its language policy objectives, the Government of Catalonia seeks to evaluate and certify knowledge of Catalan through a system of examinations. This objective is carried out by two agencies: the Directorate-General for Language Policy within Catalonia, and the Institut Ramon Llull, outside of Catalan-speaking areas. There are thus two different certification bodies for the Catalan language, and their respective competences are delimited while preserving the unit of the system (levels, structure, type of exercises and evaluation criteria) and establishing a total equivalence of the impact of certificates issued by either body.

The tests offered by the Institut Ramon Llull and other institutions like the directorates-general for language policy of the governments of Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands have comparable quality standards and guarantee rigour in certifying knowledge of the Catalan language.
