The Quebec public can now enjoy six days of renowned novels by Mercè Rodoreda, the most important Catalan writer of the twentieth century. The Quebequois company Fantôme is putting on the play with actor Gabriel Favreau, who will interpret Death in Spring on January 6 and 9; Dominique Quesnel with Camelia Street; and Emma Gomez, who will put on In Diamond Square. All three will be performed at l'Euguélionne, a feminist bookstore. After each performance, a talk will be moderated by Guylaine Massoutre.
Colin Zouvi Gagné, who is organizing the production, is a student at the University of Montreal's Département de littérature et de langues du monde, combining comparative literature with Catalan studies. This year marks the Catalan program's ten year anniversary at the University of Montreal.
