Camera Catalonia at the Cambridge Film Festival

Once again, the Camera Catalonia is coming to the Cambridge Film Festival! This October, enjoy the best feature films from Catalonia at this enchanting city.




The Cambridge Film Festival presents the 8th edition of Camera Catalonia, a section that showcases the very best recent Catalan cinema productions. Attendees will be able to enjoy four of the most exciting feature films to have come out of Catalan cinema in recent years. The festival, which this year presents its 39th edition, focuses on the finest international independent cinema, and takes place in different locations around the city of Cambridge.

This year's selection of Catalan productions includes:

7 Reasons to Run Away (from Society), dir. E. Soler, G. Quinto and D. Torras
An exploration of contemporary Western societies, this film offers a critique of our forms of life from the different values that aturate them.
Screenings: Sunday, 20th of October, 18:30; Tuesday, 22nd of October, 22:30.

Distances, dir. E. Trapé
After a long time, four Catalan university friends travel to Berlin to surprise another one on his birthday, but how can friendships adapt to change?
Screenings: Saturday, 19th of October, 17:45.

Life Without Sara Amat, dir. L. Jou
Based on a popular book, the film portrays a coming-of-age story, the Catalan way.
Screenings: Wednesday, 23rd of October, 18:00.

Somebody's Daughter, dir. M. Alcántara, J. de Paz, S. Fantova, G. Gallego, C. Giraldo, A. Marín, V. Moulias, G. V. Cortés, P. Vidal, E. Vilageliu, C. Villafaina.
The same day that a trial that is bound to turn into a media spectacle begins, Eli's father disappears.
Screenings: Friday, 18th of October, 12:00; Tuesday, 22nd of October, 18:00.

All the Camera Catalonia screenings will take place at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse (APH).
