The Chagford Film Festival is an annual celebration of the finest cinema held in the beautiful town of Chagford, a lively and creative community in the heart of the stunning Dartmoor National Park in Devon, South-West England. Every year, they programme a series of films presented in collaboration with the University of Exeter.
This year, the festival will be presenting the multi-awarded film Summer 1993 [Estiu 1993], directed by Carla Simón and produced by Inicia Films and Avalon. The movie follows Frida, a 6-year-old living her first summer with a foster family after losing her mother to AIDS. The film has been awarded several notorious awards, including Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival-Berlinale 2017 and the Premis Gaudí 2018.
