Five Catalan productions coming to the BFI London Film Festival!

What is perhaps one of the most prestigious cinema festivals in the UK, the BFI London Film Festival, is celebrating its 63rd edition with no less than 5 Catalan productions! Join us and enjoy some of the finest cinema in some of the most iconic London venues.




From the 2nd to the 13th of October, we will have the chance to see some of the finest international cinema, at the BFI London Film Festival. The festival, which will celebrate its 63rd edition, will include the screening of 5 Catalan productions, as well as industry events and Q&As.

The selected Catalan productions are the following:

Staff Only, dir. Neus Ballús.
Marta, a teenager, goes on holiday with her family to Senegal. The experiences she will live there, and the acquaintance of Khouma, a local filmmaker, will make her reconsider her whiteness.
Screenings: 4th of October, 18:10, Cine Lumiére; 6th of October, 17:45, Vue West End.
Including a Q&A with the director.

A Thief's Daughter, dir. Belén Funes.
Sara, 22, a single mother living in a precarious situation fighting for her future; Manuel, his father, willing to do anything to be part of the family again.
Screenings: 3rd of October, 20:45, Vue West End; 5th of October, 15:00, Vue West End.

Leap of Faith, dir. Alexandre O Philippe.
An insightful film on the making of one of the most influential cult films of all time, The Exorcist, stemming from a six-day long interview with the director, William Friedkin.
Screenings: 2nd of October, 20:30, Prince Charles Cinema; 5th of October, 15:30, Vue West End.

Fire Will Come, dir. Oliver Laxe.
A visually ravishing film, it follows the story of Amador, newly out of jail, and the relationship with his charismatic mother in the picturesque valley they live in.
Screenings: 7th of October, 20:50, BFI IMAX; 8th of October, 15:35, Prince Charles Cinema.

Watermelon Juice (short), dir. Irene Moray.
A short film part of the Love in the Age of Consent strand, Watermelon Juice presents the story of Bàrbara and Pol, who are on holiday with their friends in the middle of the mountains. A film on love, enjoying oneself and whether it is possible to ever let go.
Screenings: 4th of October, 20:40, Odeon Tottenham Court Road; 6th of October, 12:20, Cine Lumiére.
Including a Q&A with the director.

Public booking opens on September 12th. You can book your tickets on the BFI website, simply look for the film of your choice.
