The Anglo-Catalan Society celebrates its 63rd Annual Conference at the University of Birmingham

From the 10th to the 12th November, the University of Birmingham welcomes the 63rd Annual Conference of the Anglo-Catalan Society. As part of the event more than 30 conferences, discussions and presentations of works will take place, led by various academics of universities from around the world. A poetry recital will close this year’s Conference.

The programme of the 63rd Annual Conference of the Anglo-Catalan Society includes talks of every type, with that of Aina Monferrer (Jaume I University) and Teresa Bellido (University of Oviedo) under the title ‘Reflections on the vitality of the use of Catalan between Valencian opinion leaders’ or ‘The philosophical substance of the fictions of Caterina Albert’, led by Jordi Larios (University of St. Andrews).

The Anglo-Catalan Society was founded in 1954 in Oxford with the aim of promoting knowledge and appreciation of Catalan culture in the British Isles, and at the same time of encouraging cultural relations between the two communities. The association acts as a professional forum for those involved in Catalan studies, although it is open to all who share its fundamental objectives.
