The Institut Ramon Llull Launches its Special Web Site about Catalan Culture as Ghest of Honor at Guadalajara
The information is available in Catalan, Spanish and English
The special Web site about Catalan Culture as guest of honor at the Guadalajara International Book fair (IBF) in Mexico can now be accessed, two weeks before the event begins. The site - which is in Catalan, Spanish and English - can be reached from the main Web site of the Institut Ramon Llull (IRL), .Information on the site is of three main types. Firstly, there is general information about Catalonia and some of the most outstanding aspects of its culture. This segment also includes data on cultural statistics, relating particularly to the publishing industry, and links to sites related to Catalan literature.

The second segment of the site contains information about the presence of Catalan culture at the IBF 2004. It lists the activities organized by the IRL – divided into literary, academic and cultural programs – as well as providing information about those taking part. In most cases this information is extended by additional biographies and relevant links. In the case of artists performing on "La Explanada", there is also a video clip. From 27 November, the stand that has been specially designed for the Fair will also be revealed.

The third segment, called the Press Room, will include press releases issued from the Fair, which will provide both journalists and the general public with information about the activities taking place each day.

In addition to these three segments, visitors to the site will be able to access LlullTV, with video clips of the invited artists and, from 27 November to 5 December, two webcams will reveal what is happening at the Catalan culture stand at the IBF.

Other options available from the Web site’s front page will be a different poem for each day and a Visitors’ Book where users can express opinions about the event itself or about the projection of Catalan culture abroad.

The special Web site about Catalan culture at the IBF has been set up with the collaboration of the Telefónica Foundation.
