08001

pop i rock, mestissatge  //  pop & rock, indie, electronic

08001 have become the standard-bearers for a musical style that erupted on the national and international music scene a decade ago, to be baptised by the media as the Barcelona Sound. Born in El Raval, one of the most multicultural neighbourhoods in the Catalan capital, 08001 have always considered themselves a veritable work in progress. A collective in constant evolution, open to artists from around the world who stroll around El Raval every day, 08001 have always worked in the same way: slowly, savouring ideas, seeking collaboration, in short, gradually forging a highly personal and unmistakable sound. It is years since their first live performance, in the heart of El Raval itself, at the Sónar Festival of Barcelona. Over this period, the group, faithful to a philosophy that could almost be classified as part of “slow culture”, have released Raval ta Joie, which enjoyed sales of over 30,000 copies and was awarded an Impala prize, and Vorágine (2007). Now, 08001 return with a new album, No pain, no gain, due for release in 2013 and which will be accompanied by a documentary, 08001 is Back.
