After twenty-six years on the road, this band has come to mean a lot to many people, because Els Pets form part of our country’s everyday landscape, like vermouth on Sunday and partying until the early hours at the local festa major. For some, Els Pets mean their first concert, the one they will never forget, the concert where they had their first kiss… For others, Els Pets are the soundtrack of their lives, the band they grew up with, travelling companions who have illustrated the different stages in their lives in sound. Like Serrat and Llach in the 1970s, Els Pets have become an icon for an entire generation, that of the 1990s. They are also a reference in commitment to the language and to a consistent way of thinking, which they have never hidden. Indeed, they have become standard-bearers for this commitment to our language and culture, combining protest with deep feelings and emotions.
In short, Els Pets are a group that have grown up with their fans and have always worked hard – successfully, as a rule – never to disappoint. Thanks to their perseverance, they now occupy an enviable position on the music scene in Catalonia: that of a reference in the world of Catalan pop.
