The most sophisticated and caustic duo in the world of pop with Spanish lyrics and a firm favourite on the Barcelona indie music scene. Astrud have been around for quite a while now, releasing several albums and winning thousands of fans all over Spain. Now, they have teamed up with Col·lectiu Brossa to play their songs. Brossa are a collective with a constantly-changing line-up that take part in projects of all kinds, seeking their own path through experiment and tradition and inviting different guests to take part in each new initiative. With Astrud, this means the cello and violin sounds of the string quartet accompanied by accordion, hurdy-gurdy and percussion instruments (marimba and vibraphone). The result: 2010’s Lo Nuevo, released on Elefant Records.
