EL TIMBE

electrònica i hip hop  //  tropical bass

This experienced Catalan DJ, whose sounds have a strong Mediterranean air, has become one of the main purveyors of the new tropical sound. When it comes to understanding dance music, El Timbe’s special sensitivity, combined with his superb technical ability, applied to the most surprising assortment of rhythms, leads him to create a fascinating mixture of flavours and cultures in sessions that are always fresh and spontaneous.

El Timbe invented dumbia, a dense, landscaped version of cumbia, and presented this new sound at the Sónar Festival (2011) and Tormenta Tropical in Madrid, organised by the Red Bull Music Academy.

As a member of the folCORE collective, El Timbe has performed in cities all over Spain, as well as countless clubs in Barcelona, alongside such artists as Super Guachin (ZZK/ARG), Maga Bo (Post World Industries/BRA) and Dick El Demasiado (Tomanota/NL), amongst others. In 2012, El Timbe turned his hand to production, releasing several remixes. For 2013, he is preparing the Timberism Audio Visual Live Set, featuring iB74. Timberism, his successful series of mixtapes, has become popular around the world, its success spread by the intense publicity and adoration devoted to his work by tropical music and global bass blogs all over the globe.
