Jordi Rossy is an acclaimed drummer who has played with some of the greatest jazz artists in the world and has now also turned to the piano, his favourite instrument in recent years. He started playing drums at the age of eleven. In 1989 he moved to Boston and in 1991 he went to Panama to join the Danilo Pérez Quartet featuring Giovanni Hidalgo, later becoming a member of the Paquito D’Rivera Quartet. In 1995, the Brad Mehldau Trio, with Larry Grenadier on double bass and Jordi Rossy on drums, made their first recording for Warner Bros. This ensemble went on to make more than ten albums. Rossy has recently toured with such great musicians as Wayne Shorter, Steve Swallow and Lee Konitz, amongst others. As band leader and pianist, moreover, he has recorded three albums in recent years: Wicca, Iulianus Suite and Iri´s Blues.
