With six albums on the market, the Jaume Vilaseca Quartet is a leading band on the national jazz scene. Coming Home, album number six by this trio, led by Jaume Vilaseca and featuring the sitar player Ravi Chary marks a turning-point, an opening up to jazz world in a fusion of traditional Hindu music and jazz. Faithful to the band’s style, the disc also contains lyrical tracks with unexpected musical twists and turns. Although enveloped in an oriental atmosphere, Coming Home also contains many references to the city of Barcelona, for this is an elegantly daring venture that showcases the enormous talent and long experience of a group formed by truly first-class musicians.
