THE SUICIDE OF WESTERN CULTURE
electrònica i hip hop // electronic, experimental, noise, diy, shoegaze
The secret is out: a couple of years ago, the Irregular label launched The Suicide of Western Culture by releasing their eponymous album, a gem of gutsy electronic. Acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, the band shot to the top of all the “best of” lists in 2010. Since then, they have never looked back, working tirelessly and touring here, there and everywhere. SXSW, FYF Festival, The Great Escape, Eurosonic, C/O Pop, Wilsonic, Popkomm, Primavera Sound, Sónar, Rockomotives, Vienna Electronic Beats, Le Fest, Canadian Music Week… They have shared stages with such outstanding artists as Animal Collective, Orbital, Cut Copy, Clark, Kavinsky, etc. In their sophomore album, Hope Only Brings Pain (Irregular, 2013), the duo are once more bent on tracking down all us humans who are avid for music made from the heart of machines. Just three years since they were formed, and The Suicide of Western Culture are blazing quite a trail.
