This multi-faceted, versatile ensemble, resident at the Auditorium of Barcelona, is equipped to perform repertoires ranging from pieces for soloists to works for up to forty instrumentalists. BCN216 play and promote contemporary music from all around the world, combining classical pieces by well-known composers with works by up-and-coming young writers. In pursuit of their founding goals of experimentation and dissemination, the orchestra seeks to establish a stable programme that is also open to other artforms, such as dance, theatre and film.
