Joan Manuel Soldevila was born in Barcelona in 1964 and lives in Figueres. He is a secondary school teacher of Spanish literature and language in that city, and a specialist in comics and mass communication. He combines his teaching work with writing and exhibition curation and is a regular contributor to various print media outlets. But one outstanding facet of his professional life is that of being a Tintín expert, leading him to write the Tintín and Hergé Universe, among other works based on the famous Belgian comic character.
