The programme 'Una mà de contes' presents two chapters created in the context of the Bologna Children’s and Young Adult Book Fair

Literature.  Barcelona,  11/01/2018

Una mà de contes starts the year by presenting five new chapters, two of them created as a result of the collaboration with the Institut Ramon Llull at last year’s Bologna Children’s and Young Adult Book Fair, where Catalonia and the Balearic Islands were the guests of honour.

They are 'El Gentil i els tres savis' (The Gentile and the Three Wise Men, to be broadcast on 26th January) and 'La nena i la Lluna' (The Girl and the Moon, on 2nd February), which have been produced as a result of the invitation made by the Institut Ramon Llull to the programme Una mà de contes for last year’s edition of the Bologna Children’s and Young Adult Book Fair. For the occasion, besides producing these two new chapters, a tutorial was produced on the programme’s website, available to all, for the purpose of enjoying and learning with the more than 70 titles in Italian from the collection 'Una mà de contes'. The chapter 'El Gentil i els tres savis', is an adaptation by Maite Carranza of Ramon Llull’s text, illustrated by Àfrica Fanlo. Making use of the comparative study that Ramon Llull made of different regions during his lifetime, the adaptation for Una mà de contes, attempts to highlight, without explicit religious allusions, values such as dialogue and coexistence between different ways of understanding things and sharing life.

For its part, 'La nena i la Lluna' is a story illustrated by the Italian artist Cristina Spanò, based on drawings done by the primary school pupils of the Monterumici school in Bologna during the drawing workshop organized by the Institut Ramon Llull at the Sala Borsa Library in Bologna. The text, by Italian author Antonio Prete, has been translated and adapted by Teresa Duran. Based on dreams, the story tells, in a magical and fantastical way, how a girl grows up through a mysterious dialogue with the Moon.

From Friday, 12th January this television programme by Televisió de Catalunya will present five new stories
