Enrolments applications are now being processed for language stays in Catalan-speaking areas. Students from foreign universities where Catalan Studies are taught will be able to apply for their place from 20th March to 5th May. Those interested can only apply to take part in one of the two educational proposals.
Summer Language Stay in Barcelona
For almost three weeks, about forty students will be able to take part in the language and culture courses of the Summer Language Stay in Barcelona, organized by the Institut Ramon Llull in collaboration with the University of Barcelona. Classes will be given in Barcelona from 14th to 31st July. Apart from attending the courses, those enrolled will also have the chance to live in the city and get the most out of all the possibilities it offers.
14th Catalan Language University Campus
Andorra and Girona play host to the 14th Catalan Language University Campus, which will begin the programme on 19th July in Andorra, and will move to the Girona area on 26th July. The Campus ends on 2nd August. Participants will be able to enjoy a week in the heart of the Pyrenees before moving to Girona, where classes will be given at the University of Girona’s Faculty of Letters. They will round off their stay with visits to L’Empordà, get first-hand knowledge of Dalí’s world, sample Catalan cuisine and make a stop in the medieval town of Hostalric. They will also have time to discover all the secret corners of the ancient city of Girona.
The stays are a unique chance for students to practise Catalan with other students from all over the world. Since 2003, over 800 people have been able to complete their education in Catalan during the summer in the Catalan-speaking territories. Some of these people have since worked as translators of Catalan literature into other languages and as teachers and researchers associated with Catalan studies.
