Vinaròs and Morella host the VII introduction to foreign language teaching course

Once again, the Institut Ramon Llull, the Valencia Language Academy and the Vives Universities Network are organising the VII introduction to foreign language teaching course, which will be held in Vinaròs and Morella from 14 to 16 October 2016. The course is run in association with the Masters Degree in the teaching of Catalan as a first and second language at Barcelona University, Vic University-Central University of Catalonia, Barcelona Autonomous University and Alicante University.

The IRL’s Area of Language and Universities and Area of Literature and Thought are organizing, together with Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU), the 1st Literary Translation Seminar for young Russian speakers. The programme aims to train young Russian-speaking university students in the world of Catalan translation, and its chief aim is to ensure the spread of previously untranslated Catalan literature among the Russian public.

The enrolment period for the 14th Catalan Language University Campus and the 2015 Summer Language Stay has begun

Enrolments applications are now being processed for language stays in Catalan-speaking areas. Students from foreign universities where Catalan Studies are taught will be able to apply for their place from 20th March to 5th May. Those interested can only apply to take part in one of the two educational proposals.

This Thursday, 22 May, marks the opening of the period for the submission of applications for the competition for the selection of teachers of Catalan studies at universities outside the Catalan language sphere.  In all there are 16 posts for universities in Germany, France, the USA, the UK, Spain, Mexico, Portugal and Israel, all on the IRL Catalan studies abroad network.

The Ramon Llull Foundation headed the participation of the Catalan language at the 32nd edition of the Expolangues International Language and Culture Fair in Paris, from 5th to 8th February. After several editions in which the Institut Ramon Llull has handled Catalan representation, this year, and as the result of an agreement signed last year between the Andorran Government’s Ministry of Culture and the IRL, it was taken over by the entity made up of the various Catalan-speaking territories.

The Institut Ramon Llull takes part in the IV International Symposium on the Teaching of Catalan

The Institut Ramon Llull is taking part in the IV International Symposium on the Teaching of Catalan, which will be held on 4 and 5 April at the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia. The symposium is a continuation of earlier ones, also held in Vic in 1981, 1991 and 2002, which brought together hundreds of professionals to analyse the development of methodology in the teaching of the language and the changes in the sociolinguistic situation of our society
