Vinaròs and Morella host the VII introduction to foreign language teaching course

Once again, the Institut Ramon Llull, the Valencia Language Academy and the Vives Universities Network are organising the VII introduction to foreign language teaching course, which will be held in Vinaròs and Morella from 14 to 16 October 2016. The course is run in association with the Masters Degree in the teaching of Catalan as a first and second language at Barcelona University, Vic University-Central University of Catalonia, Barcelona Autonomous University and Alicante University.

The University of Massachusetts is to offer a Minor in Catalan Studies

As from this coming academic year the University of Massachusetts is to offer a Minor in Catalan Studies. This university, where since 2006 a Catalan language and culture studies programme has been given with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, is now going to offer the possibility of specializing in these subjects with a Minor made up of 15 credits.

The Institut Ramon Llull opens the competition for the selection of teachers of Catalan studies abroad

This Thursday, 22 May, marks the opening of the period for the submission of applications for the competition for the selection of teachers of Catalan studies at universities outside the Catalan language sphere.  In all there are 16 posts for universities in Germany, France, the USA, the UK, Spain, Mexico, Portugal and Israel, all on the IRL Catalan studies abroad network.

The Institut Ramon Llull is taking part in the IV International Symposium on the Teaching of Catalan, which will be held on 4 and 5 April at the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia. Seminar on Barcelona FC and Catalan culture at the University of Manchester on the occasion of the Champions match

On Tuesday next, 18 February, the University of Manchester will be hosting a new Seminar on Barcelona FC and Catalan culture. It will coincide with the Champions match between FC Barcelona and Manchester City in the evening. The event comes under the agreement signed in September 2012 between the club and the Institut Ramon Llull to promote Catalan culture in the world. Similar seminars have been held at the universities of Glasgow, Paris 3 Nouvelle Sorbonne and Amsterdam.
