Llull organises the annual spring meeting of the European Network for Literary Translation – ENLIT

Literature.  Barcelona, 10/05/2022

The Institut Ramon Llull organises the annual spring meeting of the European Network for Literary Translation – ENLIT on May 12th and 13th. The event is taking place in parallel to the Barcelona Poesia festival, and it features the participation of 17 organisations from 14 countries: Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Belgium, Germany, Greece, France, Wales (UK), Ireland, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and the Spanish State.

Activities of the annual spring meeting of the European Network for Literary Translation – ENLIT, which is taking place within Llull’s 20th anniversary, include strategic debates and talks about the partner organisations’ priorities: the setup and management of writers’ residencies, translation good practices, illustration and advertising, or the potential integration of new members.

The network, of which Llull is a foundational member, supports the sustained development of translation grant programmes in order to create a bigger interest and the visibility of literature, both within each partner’s country and internationally. Thus, the goal is to foster an easier access to the various literary voices from within and out of European borders.

The meeting is ending on May 13th, Friday, with the show Remei de Ca la Fresca at 8.30pm, at the Jardins de la Casa de la Misericòrdia, within the festival Barcelona Poesia.

The European Network for Literary Translation – ENLIT was born in 2016 at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which hosted its official foundational meeting. Among the founders were 22 organisations from 19 countries and regions from all around Europe. Currently, the network counts with the active participation of 33 institutions.
