Meetthechef with Albert Adrià

Gastronomy.  Portland, Seattle, 09/12/2018

There are plastic artists, literary artists and Chefs who are artists. Chefs who has a gift that makes them contribute something different, new, innovative. That distinguishes them and make them leaders. Meethechef wants to recreate the most special side of this Chef who sets trends, submerging the Chef in an artistic environment surrounded by other geniuses, other masters, other artists.

Meethechef wants to transport the viewer to the magical universe of a unique Chef, taking the Chef to the stage and letting him create in front of the public, while we listen to his thoughts, ideas and dreams for the future. We want to talk about innovation with the public, we want to create a language between the master and the spectator, who besides enjoying a gastronomy leader, they'll be able to enjoy a show where plastic arts, painting, sculpture and music merge with only one goal: to live a unique experience.

World renowned Chef Albert Adrià launches the first edition of MeetheChef, a series of immersive events where he will talk about innovation, the creative process and failure, while being painted by contemporary artist Pepe Carretero.

At age 15, Albert Adrià left school to join his brother Ferran at the restaurant elBulli. In two years, he worked his way through every station in the kitchen but found comfort in the solitude of pastry. Albert gained hold of elBulli’s pastry department in 1987, and, for the next two decades, pioneered techniques in molecular gastronomy, helping to build the restaurant’s legacy and reputation. When elBulli closed in 2011, Adrià and his brother sought to shake up Barcelona’s dining scene. They developed the first culinary “amusement park” in the world in the heart of the city, and soon Michelin-star hits came: modern tapas bar Tickets and its neighboring cocktail bar 41 Degrees, followed by Bodega 1900, Pakta, Haute Mexican Hoja Santa, taco joint Niño Viejo, and the architectural and design marvel Enigma.
