The Barcelona Modern Project and the Mallorcan collective Placa Base will be making their mark in Montreal on November 24 and 25, with support from the Pyrenees–Mediterranean Euroregion.
This year's Turbulences Sonores program comprises eight concerts and five talks, to be staged at several venues across Montpellier. Highlights include a performance by the New French Flute Orchestra – which follows in the footsteps of OFF, the first flute orchestra established in Europe, and features the full flute family, from the piccolo to the octobass flute – accompanied by the actor Alain Carré. In addition, the duo made up of Françoise Atlan (vocals) and Nathalie Négro (piano) will perform a diverse repertoire that pays tribute to the musical heritage of the Mediterranean region. German musician Sylvia Hinz will serve up an electronica-infused flute recital, while the Barcelona Modern Project and Mallorcan collective Placa Base will also take the stage.
