Seven Catalan productions at the 16th edition of the Festival Cinehorizontes in Marseille

Cinema.  Marseille, 10/11/2017

It has been 16 years since Marseille played host to the first Hispanic film festival, the Festival Cinehorizontes, which this year will be on from 9th to 17th November at different venues in the French city. With Jocelyne Faessel as president, this edition has seven Catalan productions and directors Bruna Cusí and Jo Sol will be present.

The festival programme sets out to highlight the best of the film industry in the Peninsula and to reflect on freedom in the context of the window “freedom, from films against Franco to films without Franco” through documentaries that revisit the recent history of Spain. The films chosen can be seen in the Le Prado and Alhambra cinemas and other venues associated with the festival.

Among the films chosen we can find the Catalan productions Abracadabra, by Pablo Berger; Incerta glòria (Uncertain Glory), by Agustí Villaronga; Vivir y otras ficciones (Living and Other Fictions), by Jo Sol; Estiu 1993 (Summer 1993), by Carla Simón; shorts Time Code and Mai and the documentary Sexo, maracas y chihuahuas, by Diego Mas Trelles, who will be present at the festival’s closing event.

The film Lesa Humanitat (Crimes Against Humanity), by Héctor Fáver, is also being screened on Sunday, 12th November in an extraordinary session at the Le Prado cinema in the presence of the director.
