On Monday, 19th February at 7 pm, Carles Rebassa, from Majorca, will be taking part in a poetry reading moderated by Ghada Khalifa at the Poetry House, where other poets from around the world will also be participating, like the Canadian Jane Munro, Donia El-Amal Ismael from Palestine and the Finnish author Lauri Otonkoski, among others.
Rebassa’s second appearance will be on the 22nd at 7 pm, when the festival’s closing ceremony will take place at the Greater Cairo public library. The poet will share the table in a discussion about literature with other writers from all over the world, including Sara Abdeen (Egypt), the American Michael March, and Greek-born Christos Papadopoulos.
Carles Rebassa (1977) is a poet born in Palma de Mallorca. He has published Requiescat in pace (1998), together with Pere Perelló; the volume Poezies (2001), with the heteronym Bartomeu Matagalhs; Poema B (2006); Els joves i les vídues (2006), winner of the Ausiàs March Prize for poetry, and Pluja de foc (2016). His latest work to be published is the novel Eren ells, which won the Pin i Soler City of Tarragona Prize for the Novel and the City of Barcelona Catalan Literature Prize.
