Montreal Bookstore Hosting Three Mercè Rodoreda Plays

Literature.  Montréal, 05/01/2018

From January 5 to 10, three plays by Merce Rodoreda, Death in Spring, Camelia Street, and In Diamond Square, will be performed at the l’Euguélionne bookstore in Montreal.

The Quebec public can now enjoy six days of renowned novels by Mercè Rodoreda, the most important Catalan writer of the twentieth century. The actors from the Quebequois Fantôme company include Gabriel Favreau and Colin Zouvi, who will interpret Death in Spring on January 6 and 9; Dominique Quesnel and Olivia Palacci with Camelia Street; and Emma Gomez and Solène Paré, who will put on In Diamond Square. All three will be performed at l'Euguélionne, a feminist bookstore. After each performance, a talk will be moderated by Guylaine Massoutre.

The Fantôme theater company is performing dramatized readings under the ‘Portrait littéraire’ cycle, which interprets works by twentieth-century writers.
