Literature.  28/09/2017

The second edition of the International Literature Festival in Odessa, Ukraine, which is being held from 28th September to 1st October 2017, has the participation of more than 50 authors from around the world. Supported by the IRL, the Catalan writer Maite Carranza is presenting her book, La pel·lícula de la vida (The Film of Life), which will be read in Ukrainian.

The festival in the Ukrainian city of Odessa is bilingual: the texts of authors in a foreign language are read first in the original language and then translated into Ukrainian. The main purpose of the event is to strengthen the city’s literary tradition with the help of international literature, especially children’s and young adult.

Thanks to the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, Catalan author and screenwriter Maite Carranza (Barcelona, 1958) is presenting her book La pel·lícula de la vida there, on 29th September. Carranza has chiefly written children’s and young adult literature and has won several prizes in this field, like the Vaixell de Vapor in 2016. Her books have been translated into many languages, including Russian.

Maite Carranza won the Vaixell de Vapor prize with La pel·lícula de la vida in 2016
