The festival in the Ukrainian city of Odessa is bilingual: the texts of authors in a foreign language are read first in the original language and then translated into Ukrainian. The main purpose of the event is to strengthen the city’s literary tradition with the help of international literature, especially children’s and young adult.

Thanks to the support of the Institut Ramon Llull, Catalan author and screenwriter Maite Carranza (Barcelona, 1958) is presenting her book La pel·lícula de la vida there, on 29^th September. Carranza has chiefly written children’s and young adult literature and has won several prizes in this field, like the Vaixell de Vapor in 2016. Her books have been translated into many languages, including Russian.
