‘25%. Catalonia at Venice’ is on show at the Virreina Centre de la Imatge

Arts.  Barcelona, 10/04/2014

This Thursday, 10 April, the Virreina Centre de la Imatge (La Rambla, 99 1st floor) will be the venue for the inauguration of the exhibition 25%. Catalonia at Venice, which represented Catalan art at the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013.

After the successful presentation of the project in Venice, La Virreina Centre de la Imatge has joined forces with the Institut Ramon Llull, the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona and Centre d’Art Tecla Sala de l’Hospitalet to present it in its original context and, in that way, to help carry on the social and creative debate it proposes.

25%. Catalonia at Venice is a choral project constructed from the involvement of three creators from the world of the image: the curator Jordi Balló, the artist Francesc Torres and the film-maker Mercedes Álvarez, as well as eight jobless persons who are reclaiming their place in society. The leading figures of 25% are Gessamí Sánchez Ollé, Noèlia Asensi, Aura Jobita Gonzáles, Pedro González, Cyntia Terrade, Mamadou Kheraba Drame, Alejandro Roldán and Joan Andreu Parra.

The exhibition can be seen at Virreina Centre de la Imatge from 11 April to 27 July 2014.

Open until 27 July
