MARC AYZA GROUP featuring Blurum 13 – Soul, Groove Jazz, Hip Hop
Marc Ayza (drums), Roger Mas (piano & keys), Tom Warburton (bass), Helios (turntables), Blurum 13 (vocals)
Live at Home is the title of the second album by the drummer Marc Ayza with his current group, which will be presented next Saturday in Berlin. It is an album of new pieces written with the same spirit that captivated listeners and critics alike four years ago when he released the revolutionary Offering (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2008).
As on that occasion, when groove, jazz, soul and hip-hop went hand in hand in a form of collective celebration in which the magnetic beat of the drum blended in with the poetic mixing of Mc Core Rhythm, in Berlin he will be performing with Blurum 13, in which the turntables of DJ Helios will mix with the torrential outpourings of pianist Roger Mas, and the strings of bass player Tom Warburton will mark the lysergic beats of this absorbing proposal.
The whole range of black music is present in Marc Ayza’s universe: from Gil Scott-Heron to Marvin Gaye, from John Coltrane to J Dilla, taking us from the Bronx to the Raval.
After the concert, DJs – Set World Jazz with Helios and friends ... until late!

Sunday, 3rd February

Xavier Dotras Trio – Modern Trio Jazz

Preludes, the fourth album by the group led by pianist Xavier Dotras, pays tribute to the great classical and jazz composers, including Bach, Chopin, Bill Evans, Enrico Pieranunzi, Michel Petrucciani, Henry Mancini and Ennio Morricone. Its excellent reception has led the group to perform at important festivals like the Rome Jazz Festival, the Jazz Na Starówce Festival in Warsaw, and the Europa Fest in Bucharest, an international tour that now continues with their appearance at the B-Flat in Berlin.
This year the Xavier Dotras Trio will finish its successful Preludes tour and will begin working on a new album to be released in 2014. This release will coincide with the 10th anniversary of a group that has been stable since it was formed, with César Martínez on drums and Toni Pujol on double bass, and which has performed at some of the most prestigious festivals in Spain and much of Europe, including England, France, Holland, Romania, Poland, Italy and Germany.
