Children’s and YA : Illustrated Non-fiction
With this book, Luisa Vera invites us to break through the aura of respect that often surrounds a visit to a museum, and forget about the pre-conceived notions we have about observing a work of modern art. She does so with clear illustration, a good touch of humor, and a very precise text.
A father and son visit a museum. As the father stands spellbound observing a work of art, a character in another painting invites the son to visit the museum. Moving from hall to hall the young boy learns about 20th-century art movements, each of them depicted on fold-out pages with few words and some examples.
In order to move from one to the next, the reader must follow a labyrinth based on a work from each art movement.
