Sant Jordi in London at Borough Market on Sunday 22 April

Sant Jordi / St George is celebrated both in England and Catalonia. In recognition of this, the Catalan Government and organisations join up once again with London Borough Market to present a festive day of arts, roses and books on Sunday 22 April 2018 from 12pm to 4pm. Newham Bookshop will join us once again with a book stall with translations of Catalan literature. Free event, all welcome!

Eduard Màrquez at Cúirt International Festival of Literature

Eduard Márquez, Catalan writer and the author of poetry books, children's stories, tales and novels, will participate in the event World Perspectives: Eduard Màrquez, Norbert Gstrein, and Hédi Kaddour on 26 April at 6pm as part of Cúirt International Festival of Literature in Galway, Ireland. This event is presented in association with the Institut Ramon Llull for Catalan Language and Cultureand the French Embassy of Ireland.

The public calls for applications to opt for three of Institute Ramon Llull’s grants that encourage the promotion of Catalan literature abroad have been published in the Official Journal of the Government of Catalonia.

Pre-registration for tests to obtain Catalan language official certificates now open

On Thursday 1 March begins the pre-registration period for the year's first round of tests to obtain Catalan language certificates from the Institut Ramon Llull (IRL), a period which will end on 25 April. The IRL certificates demonstrate the level of knowledge of Catalan for both academic and employment purposes (public administration, companies, institutions) and are divided into five levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
