Catalan companies at IF: Milton Keynes

IF: Milton Keynes opens a new 10-day edition on 15 July which will count with companies Laitrum Theatre & Toti Toronell, Toc de Fusta and Always Drinking Marching Band. This biennial festival has a history of working with Catalan companies that goes back to its beginning.

Teatre Nu performs at Alice's Day 2016

On Saturday 2 July Oxord celebrates Alice's Day, a day of entertainment around Lewis Carrol's tale with a very complete programme including performances, storytelling, workshops, live music and much more in venues all across the city. Catalan company Teatre Nu presents interactive street performance 'Alice’s Dream'  a rolling story, a tale in movement, a journey in which the public become the main character in a narrative as universal as it is fascinating.

Laitrum return to the UK with 'Micro-Shakespeare'

Catalan company Laitrum Teatre comes back to the UK with their internationally acclaimed 'Micro-Shakespeare', an interactive show  where Shakespeare’s most popular plays go micro and are presented in a series of box-theatres manipulated and enjoyed through headphones by the audience. The show will be presented at Hat Fair Winchester on 1 and 2 July and at IF: Milton Keynes on 23 and 24 July.

Toni Castells presents the World Premiere of '2045: The Year Man Becomes Immortal?'

‘2045: The Year Man Becomes Immortal’ is the title of the latest piece from Barcelona-born British composer Toni Castells which will have its World Premiere at St James’s Piccadilly on 6 July. The piece explores the links between technological Singularity and the exploration of human mortality; it features the composer’s trademark blend of classical ensembles, operatic voices and electronica/sound art.

Los Excéntricos perform at Mouth Of the Tyne Festival

From Catalonia and France, Los Excentricos are a trio of extraordinary clowns who entertain with live music, juggling and physical comedy. After their show at Glastonbury Festival, they present 'The melting pot pourri' at Mouth Of the Tyne Festival on Saturday 9 July as part of the street entertainment programme.

Call for papers for the conference 'Line, Word and Gesture. Visualising Thinking in the Hispanic World', which will take place on 15 and 16 September 2016 at the University of Birmingham. Applications open for proposals for 20-minute papers in English, Spanish and Catalan; the deadline is 30 July.
