Poetry Periscope installation features Josep Lluís Agulió

In its eighth year European Literature Night (ELN) returns with an expanded programme under the rebranded European Literature Festival. From 27 April to 9 June it will include the flagship showcase of the 2016 ELN Writers at the British Library on 11 May and Poetry Periscope, a new project that features Josep-Lluís Aguiló among 30 European poets.

Urban Dance company Iron Skulls at the Breakin' Convention 2016

Catalan company Iron Skulls perform at the Breakin' Convention 2016 UK tour, a groundbreaking festival of hip hop dance theatre and culture from 30 April to 1 June. Curated by Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Jonzi D, the festival opens in London with two nights of hip hop dance theatre performances from the very best international and UK poppers, lockers, house dancers, b-boys and b-girls.

Literary Europe Live’s international jury reveals its selection of ten of the most interesting writers working in Europe today have been selected for special promotion by an international jury drawn from prestigious literary venues and festivals. Catalan novelist, poet and journalist Albert Forns is one of them.

Oques Grasses perform in London and Cardiff

After nearly 250 concerts in three years performing in the USA, Italy, France, England and Wales and their great success in Barcelona, Oques Grasses are coming back to perform in London on 12 May and Cardiff on 13 May. The seven-piece Catalan sensation bring along an uplifting live experience, a combination of reggae, rumba, pop and endless energy.

John Talabot returns to Liverpool Sound City

John Talabot returns to Liverpool Sound City on 29 May after his first appearance in this festival in 2010. He has become one of the biggest revelations of the last years and gone from a complete unknown to one of the biggest electronic hopes. All thanks to his effusive house tracks in which Moodymann, J Dilla, Chicago house, Disco music and Northern Soul intertwine to produce organic and humane songs, full of life, and that make your hands and heart dance.

Translate in the City: Literary Translation Short Course at City University of London includes Catalan into English

The City University of London is organising a Literary Translation Short Course from 11 to 15 July that offers the opportunity to translate texts across the literary genres into English, working with leading professional translators. Catalan is offered for the first time with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull and translator Peter Bush will be the course tutor. Applicants for Catalan will have the possibility of receiving bursaries for a part of the tuition fees. Application deadline: 31 May 2016.
