Presentation of 'Following the Fish', The Institut Ramon Llull’s project at the Biennale Architettura 2023, curated by Leve in collaboration with Top Manta

Catalonia in Venice_ Following the Fish exhibition will showcase in Venice from May 20 to November 26, 2023. The project focuses on urbanism, working spaces, and housing from the perspective of the African diaspora in Catalonia, aiming to identify alternatives to hegemonic architectures. The Catalan Minister of Culture, Natàlia Garriga, will open the Catalan exhibit in Venice on May 18.

A two-concert centennial tribute to Alicia de Larrocha in New York City featuring pianist Adam Kent

Alicia de Larrocha is considered one of the most important pianists of the 20th century. Her artistic career spanned five continents and, with over 74 years on stage, she performed more than 4,000 concerts and recitals in the most important halls, with the most prestigious orchestras and conductors. However, due to her modesty and desire to appear as little as possible in the media, her recognition has been limited to the field of classical music and she is a veritable unknown to most people not involved in or fans of classical music.

The University for Foreigners of Siena signs a collaboration agreement with the Institut Ramon Llull to create a Centre for Catalan Studies in the Italian city

On April 21, 2023, the director of The Institut Ramon Llull, Pere Almeda, and the dean of the Unistrasi, Tomaso Montanari, signed a four- years Framework Collaboration Agreement to create the Centre for Catalan Studies (CEC) at the Italian University. The event took place at the Palau Marc de Barcelona in the presence of the Catalan Minister for Culture, Natàlia Garriga.

Colección Privada: Spain’s Super 8 and 16mm Scene

In the last fifteen years, Spanish cities have seen the flourishing of heterogeneous communities devoted to maintaining analog film culture. Through material exchange, mutual influence, informal screenings, and friendship, three generations of filmmakers intermingle in Madrid, Barcelona, and San Sebastian in an extraordinary moment for Spanish poetic cinema. These programs survey the output of 23 filmmakers who continue to work in 16mm and Super-8, cultivating a cinema in tension with the quotidian in a drive to capture or conjure experience.

Antoni Hervàs – 'the awakening' in Los Angeles

the awakening is a project by Barcelona-based artist Antoni Hervàs, curated by Clara López Menéndez. The exhibition will be accompanied by a 3 month long residency at the Tom of Finland Foundation (April-June).
