Alba Folgado wins the SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2022

The selection committee comprised of Eva Sòria (Institut de Cultura of Barcelona) and Maria Lladó (Institut Ramon Llull), together with the management team of Sant Andreu Contemporani (Jordi Pino, director, and Zaida Trallero and Pablo G. Polite, curators), has awarded the residence in competition to the art curator Alba Folgado. Marenka Krasomil and Yasmin Martin Vodopivec have been finalists.

Lost Clouds Archive by Andrés Galeano in Exhibit in Estonia

Andrés Galeano’s exhibition project Lost Clouds Archive weaves together family and portrait photography with old meteorological photography to reveal a metaphysical connection between the photographic medium and the sphere of the celestial or transcendental. Looking at the history of meteorology and photography sparks connections with current issues such as digitalisation and data clouds as well as global warming. The exhibition invites us to think of the concept of the sky from different perspectives – the meteorological view of the physical sky, the photographic view of a metaphysical sky and the digital view of a contemporary sky.

The films Ocaña, retrat intermitent (1978), El vicari d’Olot (1981) and Amic/amat (1999) will trigger the discussion on Catalan cinema history and the construction of masculinity and homosexuality in the Catalan cultural context.
