Oriol Fontdevila and Lara Fluxà's project will represent catalan culture at the Venice Biennale Arte 2022

Catalonia will take part in the 59th International Art Festival in Venice as part of the Eventi Collaterali programme with a project commissioned by Oriol Fontdevila, which will be called Llim (Silt), with artwork from the artist Lara Fluxà. The Catalan exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia, opening on 23rd April 2022, is produced by the Institut Ramon Llull.

Two Catalan shorts featured in the 40th Annual Battery Dance Festival’s Young Voices in Dance program

40th Annual Battery Dance Festival features 56 performances, 32 premieres, and 14 countries. Free virtual performances will be available online on YouTube from August 12-14, 7-8pm EDT. Free in-person & liestreamed performances will take place from August 15-20, 7-9pm EDT at Robert F. Wagner Park in New York and livestreamed on YouTube.

Literature.  07/07/2021

The British Centre for Literary Translation and the Institut Ramon Llull are organising an advanced course in Catalan-English literary translation

The online course is aimed at literary translators from Catalan into English who have already published at least one translation of a work of Catalan literature and who wish to broaden their skills as translators. The course will be directed by translator Peter Bush in collaboration with editor Sophie Lewis, and will run for three days, from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 November 2021.

Cambridge Film Festival’s “Rewind” season announces July screenings of Catalan productions

To celebrate its 40th edition, the Cambridge Film Festival has organised “Rewind”, a monthly selection of great films screened throughout its history. The “Rewind” season continues in July with a Catalan theme that includes Black Bread, a must-see film that was Spain’s 2012 Oscar contender.

The Institut Ramon Llull is holding the 35th International Catalan Teachers’ Conference between 19th and 22nd July

For the second year running, the Conference, which was to be held at the University of València, will take place online.
