Part of Oxford University Press’ “City Tales” series, Barcelona Tales draws together a selection of short writings from different styles and genres that touch on one of the world’s most visited cities, Barcelona. Edited by Helen Constantine, with stories translated from Catalan and Spanish by Peter Bush, the book constitutes the perfect introduction to the literature and culture of this wonderful city.
The book will be presented in London on the 14th of May at Daunt Books Marylebone at 7pm and in Oxford on the 29th of May at Blackwell’s Bookshop at 7pm.
In London, the presentation will feature Catalan crime fiction writer Teresa Solana and literary translator Peter Bush, who also happens to be Teresa’s husband. They will discuss their own impressions of the city and the writers included in the book. You can buy tickets for the London presentation here.
In Oxford, there will be a dual presentation of Barcelona Tales and Lisbon Tales, featuring Peter Bush, Amanda Hopkinson (translator of the latter) and the editor, Helen Constantine. You can buy tickets for the Oxford presentation here.
