Catalan professional football manager and former football player, Pep Guardiola, will deliver 2018's Peer Annual Lecture during the E. Allison Peers Symposium at the University of Liverpool, on 21 November 2018 at 4.45pm. This lecture is in collaboration with Insitut Ramon Llull.

The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Liverpool is delighted to present the 2018 Annual Peers Symposium.

This year’s symposium aims to consider new movements and the latest cutting-edge research within the discipline of Iberian and Latin American Studies, with a special emphasis on sports, politics and culture.

The well-established Peers Annual Lecture will be delivered by Pep Guardiola, professional football manager and former football player, in conversation with staff from the Department.

The conversation will be followed by live questions posed by the audience, and will establish a fruitful dialogue with the ‘Football, Politics and Culture’ panel, in which three leading scholars will present their research on the topic within the Hispanic world.

All welcome, event to be followed by a drinks reception. Registration is essential.
