The ICEC’s markets department is collaborating with the IRL on the project “Viva Catalonia, performing arts from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands”, by organizing a foretaste aimed at reinforcing Catalan and Balearic presence at the festival and incentivizing professional networking on Saturday, 26th August.
Viva Catalonia includes the performances of Ada Vilaró with Públic present 24 hores (performance), Vero Cendoya with La Partida (dance), Playground / Xavi Bobés with Coses que s’obliden fàcilment (object theatre), Animal Religion with Tauromàquina (circus), Eia circus company with Intarsi (circus), Hotel iocandi with Esquerdes (circus), Circ Bover with Vincles (circus) and Aina & Arias with A to A (dance).
Spoffin is a street arts festival in the Dutch city of Amersfoort which is noted for the quality of its programming and for being a meeting place for professionals in the sector from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia and the UK, among others. The festival has recently been chosen to receive the EFFE Label 2017-2018 awarded by the European Festivals Association, and which is made up of European festivals that stand out for the artistic quality of their programme and for the impact they have on the local, national and international scene.
Alfred Konijnenbelt, the director of Spoffin, is well acquainted with Catalan performing arts, and for this reason in 2016 the Ramon Llull Foundation awarded him the Ramon Llull Prize for supporting the promotion of Catalan culture abroad.
From 2010 to 2016 the festival programmed the following artists (20): Jordi L. Vidal, Guixot de 8, Karl Stets, La Banda del Surdo, Adrian Schvarzstein, Cia. Trifaldó, Cia. Nadine Gerspacher, Colectivo Oximoron, Delrevés, Negritos, Cia. Zero en Conducta, Compañía de Circo “eia”, Gromic, Wandering Orquestra, Juana Beltran, Nicolas Ricchini & Ines Massoni, Joan Català, Diego Sinniger de Salas, Guillem Albà & The All and Héctor Plaza & Agnes Sales Ehiza.
