Performing.  20/08/2017

Au Bonheur des Mômes is a children’s theatre festival organised every August in the Savoyard town of Grand Bornand in France. The 26th edition, to be held between 20 and 25 August, will feature five Catalan theatre companies.

Coordinated by the Théâtre de la Toupine in Annemasse and under the artistic direction of Alain Benzoni, Au Bonheur des Mômes is this year renewing its collaboration agreement with the IRL with the programming of several Catalan theatre companies, as it has done for the past few years.

Performances will include ‘Intarsi’ by Eia, ‘Le Petit Lilo + Les Géants + Nomade’ by Actua Produccions, ‘Naufragés’ by La Industrial Teatrera, ‘Open Door’ by Pere Hosta, and ‘Wetfloor’ by La Cia Cris.

Having started in 1992, the festival has become a unique event in Europe thanks to its offering of top quality artists and a constant stream of novel acts. Its huge international scope has translated into ‘twinned’ editions with some of the leading tourism and cultural institutions of other countries and regions of Europe, including Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Catalonia.

Catalan and Balearic Island theatre companies have always had a notable presence at this festival and since 2010 the following companies have been featured: La Baldufa, Efímer, Los Excéntricos Fadunito, Maduixa Teatre, Volaquivol, Ytuquepintas, Los 2play, Nats Nuts Dansa, Jam, Zum-Zum Teatre, Mumusic Circus, Roseland Musical, Insectotròpics, Circ Bover, and Théâtre du Mouvement.

Around 90 companies will be performing at Au Bonheur des Mômes with some 450 performances in 30 different spaces. It is estimated that around 80,000 people will attend the different performances.

It is estimated that some 150 French and international professionals will be attending the festival which has already become an established date for many programmers
