This lecture-recital combines the expertise of concert pianist Douglas Riva and Spanish literary scholar Susana Rivera. Professor Rivera's talk will set the stage for the week's events, elucidating the most important historical and cultural aspects of Spain during Enric Granados's lifetime. International concert pianist Douglas Riva will perform extracts from Cant de les Estrelles by Enric Granados, as well as works by Falla, Mompou, Albéniz and more Granados.

A 70-minute concert of the works of Enric Granados, will take place in the beautiful sanctuary of the Cathedral of St. John. The concert will include major piano works, works for violin and piano, two works by New Mexican composer John D. Robb, and will feature Granados' masterpiece, Cant de les Estrelles scored for 3 choirs, organ and piano.
