Hèctor Parra sets the sculptures of Jaume Plensa to music at La Maison de la Radio in Paris

Music.  Paris, 18/02/2017

The composer Hèctor Parra (Barcelona, 1976) will present his composition Tres miradas (Three Gazes), a piece for organ inspired by the work of the sculptor Jaume Plensa, on 18th February at La Maison de la Radio in Paris. Francesco Filidei will be performing the piece on the new organ in the Radio France Auditorium, built in Gerhard Grenzing’s workshop in El Papiol and inaugurated in May of last year. The new organ in La Maison de la Radio was inaugurated in May 2016 in a grand recital at which Juan de la Rubia, the organist of the Sagrada Família, played.

It will be the first organ recital of the 2017 Présences Festival with the new Grenzing instrument in the Radio France Auditorium, inaugurated in May 2016. The composer and organist Francesco Filidei will play a programme of contrasts, bringing together works by composers Hèctor Parra, Mauro Lanza, François-Bernard Mâche and Iannis Xenakis.
