At the festival in Bhubaneswar, in Odisha state, Albert Forns will be taking part in the round table ‘Does Literature Travel Well?’ along with writers Benyamin and Sandip Roy. In a discussion chaired by Yajnaseni Chakraborty, they will be talking about how stories can transcend language and geographical areas.
At the Kolkata festival, Gemma Ruiz will give a workshop on biographical writing, ‘Once Upon a Time’, based on her experience writing Argelagues, her first novel. Priyadarshinee Guha will also be taking part in the workshop, which is addressed to young people aged 14 and over. On the following day, at the same festival, Albert Forns will be talking to writers Roman Simič, Inga Žolude and Marina Perezagua about the latest trends in European fiction, in a round table chaired by Alexandra Büchler.
The Literature Across Frontiers network will thus be introducing the new generation of European writers during the literary festival season in India. A total of 12 European writers will be introducing themselves to audiences at six festivals, bringing Europe and India closer together in a literary dialogue touching on all kinds of subjects.
