Concert by violinist Laia Montserrat at St James's Piccadilly

Virtuoso violinist Laia Montserrat performs with pianist Daniel Swain at St James's Piccadilly on 21 January at 7.30pm. Described as 'Passionate and intense' in Bonn General-Anzeiger Newspaper, Laia Montserrat made her debut at Carnegie Hall in New York at the age of 14 and has since received numerous first prizes in Paris, Italy, London, New York, Luxembourg, Romania and Spain.

Laia Montserrat was born in Barcelona and started her violin studies when she was five years old. She won her first international competition at the age of 8, and moved to Germany to study at the 'High Performance Bonn Prodigious Children School'. At the age of 11, playing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, Laia became 1st prize winner in the Jeunesses Musical of Soller, and the jury members were so impressed after her performance that they decided to increase the prize. Laia finished her violin studies in London from 2011 - 2013. She performs regularly concerts in the United States, Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Croatia, Spain, Romania, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria etc.
